Researchers Unlock Potential of Grape Plants

Teams of researchers from Missouri State University and the St. Louis, MO-based Donald Danforth Plant Science Center have found ways to genetically enhance grape plants for resistance to fungal diseases and unlock the health benefits of the polyphenols found in grapes with research funding from the Missouri Life Sciences Trust Fund. More specifically, these research teams are working to enhance Norton grape varieties for resistance to fungal diseases, as well as studying how polyphenols can offer assistance in pain management.
